What sparked your interest in dance?
For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawn to dance. As a child, you would often find me in front of the TV copying the moves from the latest music video (specifically Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, etc.), and then later showing them off at my Elementary School’s talent show. Mind you, this was before I had ever formally trained in dance, so I was probably a little rough around the edges haha!
What do you love about your job?
Absolutely everything! How amazing is it to be able to make your passion your career?
When it comes to performing, I love the rush of being on stage, theres really nothing that compares to it.
With teaching, it’s an incredible experience being able to share my love of dance with others and seeing it spark joy in their eyes. Watching my students’ growth not just over time, but even after one class is so special. I love seeing them leave even more empowered and confident than they came.
During these interesting times, what keeps you inspired?
Self-discovery. With less distractions, I’ve been able to take a deeper, more intrinsic look at myself. The more I learn about myself, the more I’m able to explore through self-expression.

What’s coming up for you?
I am currently launching new Online Dance Tutorials weekly through my company The Candy Shop, which I co-founded with my best friend Lauren Lyn. Due to most dancers being in lockdown, this is a great way for us to bring the studio to them. We offer Heels and Jazz Funk tutorials with levels ranging from Beginner to Advanced, so there are lots of options to choose from.
Tell us one fun fact about you.
I find rollercoasters/amusement park rides incredibly relaxing!
