We caught up with our friends at Delush CBD to talk about life on the growing new frontier of CBD-based beauty and lifestyle products.
Tell us your story. How was Delush born?
By accident. We were playing around with making cannabis-infused bath bombs and quickly saw a need for CBD wellness products.
Delush styles itself a “Holistic Lifestyle Company”, what does that mean to you?
We’re dedicated to ending the stigma around cannabis by providing education and CBD wellness products in non-intimidating wellness products that you can incorporate into your daily routine.
For the uninitiated, what is CBD and what do you think we need to know about it?
CBD is magic! CBD is short for Cannabidiol, a natural compound found in cannabis plants such as Hemp or Marijuana. Our CBD is extracted from hemp. CBD, unlike THC, won’t get you intoxicated. It’s well known to reduce pain, inflammation, anxiety, insomnia, just to name a few.
For someone who is curious about exploring CBD products, but they’re not sure where to start, what would you say to them?
Start with a bath bomb, we did and it changed our lives!
What are your top three personal favourite Delush products and why?
1. The Magic Stick – this is everyone’s favourite. It provides immediate relief from sore muscles and it also really great for menstrual cramps.
2. Tincture – designed for oral consumption – it helps repair muscles after a hard work out and also helps with anxiety and insomnia. Another fan fav.
3. Whipped Body Butter in Vain Jane – so fluffly and moisturizing. CBD helps our skin retain moisture so after a nice bath or shower, lathering the Whipped Body Butter on is like heaven. It also smells like cocoa from the natural, unrefined cocoa butter.
In a world where Cannabis culture is still not that widely embraced, can you tell us about some of the current challenges you face?
We have a really tough time getting our products into mainstream wellness shops to broaden our community. Often we have customers asking why we’re not stocked in more brick and mortar stores.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to start their own business? What do you wish someone had told you?
WRITE A BUSINESS PLAN!! Also, understand you’ll need to make sacrifices. Work ethic, commitment and consistency are key.
Covid has affected us all in different ways. If you’re comfortable, can you share with us how this time has affected you and your business? And do you have a message to share with the community?
It’s only affected us positively, more and more people are looking for natural alternatives to combat anxiety, especially during covid. We were also able to pivot our business during the initial stage of covid to produce hand sanitizers for the community. We gave away over 2000 bottles of hand sanitizers. A message we’d like to share is focus on the positive! Covid has given us the time and space to be able to breathe and reflect. We’d also like to send love to the community for shopping local and supporting our small business during this time!
Can you tell us something exciting that you have coming up for you? (i.e. new launch, events etc.)
We’ve got a new exciting product line coming out in Fall. Hint your fur babies will thank you.

- Our first product was the Sweet Heart Bath Bomb
- The Magic Stick was formulated after Tiger Balm. We grew up using that shit for everything ailment related. It’s an homage to our grandmas.
- Community is really important to us. We’re all about love and good vibes and helping where we’re able. In 2020 to date, Delush has donated over $10,000 to local charities and organizations.
