What do you love about your job?
The obvious necessity for storytelling, and how it continues to profoundly effect lives. As Phoebe Waller-Bridge says, “I always knew that saying the unsayable was going to be a powerful thing.”

During these interesting times, what keeps you inspired?
My friends, along with my film family are who and what are keeping me inspired as we all navigate our way through this pandemic. I mean, let’s be real, it’s been tough. It’s been challenging, and it is a weight that we are all bearing. Professionally, so many filmmakers (me included) had plans for a big year. But, those goals and hopes quickly shifted. What I have loved witnessing this year is the strength, the endurance, the in spite of, the moving forward anyway, the I will find a way, stellar attitude, from my community. The passion and resilience seen is pure magic. It’s been a fantastic way to hold myself accountable, to keep moving forward, to go do the work, and to rise up.

Another way of keeping myself inspired is by getting outside with my golden retriever, even when it’s raining. Walking has always been a form of meditation. It is soul-nurturing. I have a self-care routine that includes virtual yoga/pilates, listening to podcasts, reading books, cooking new recipes (to mix it up), and taking an online course. The person I want to be in the world is a mindful, compassionate, aware, kind, educated, empathetic human, which means a lifelong commitment to leveling up. It means leaning-in to the school-of-life in all of the ways.

Coming up and coming in hawt. Jessica Greco and I are developing “Jessica Jessica” into a series with Clique Pictures and C’Mon Mort Productions.

“Sara”, based on a true story, is an intimate short film about a woman who finds the strength to confront her greatest fear by relying on the comfort of strangers. I wrote, and will be directing it. Produced by C’Mon Mort Productions, we will be going to camera next Spring.

“Paper Cranes”, from Canadian/American, award winning filmmaker, Darwin Serink. A feature film about a young transgender singer Zachary, and a spit-fire teen who bond over chemotherapy. Their fantastical outlook on life is heightened when they invoke a legend to make a thousand paper cranes in order to beat the odds of dying. Paper Cranes is a film that speaks about the current U.S. healthcare crisis, Immigration, LGBTQQIP2SAA rights, and the healing power of friendship. Produced by Simon Paluck at Picosphere Pictures & moi (Creative Producer).
